Will we be seeing any Jeffrey Dean Morgan movies in the theater this year? Taking Woodstock seems like a sure thing, but The Accidental Husband looks like it won’t have a theatrical release because the distributor, the Yari Group, filed for bankruptcy late last year. Even a DVD release date keeps getting delayed.
Now it looks like a couple of other movies are looking at the same fate. All Good Things and Shanghai may be in danger of having their releases pushed back even further or not being released at all due to the financial troubles of their distributor, The Weinstein Company.
There’s been lots of hints out there lately that The Weinstein Co. is on the verge of financial collapse and is hoping that Halloween and Inglorious Basterds succeed financially and allow them to promote and release their other films and stop the company from having to declare bankruptcy. But it isn’t looking good.
You can read more at Deadline Hollywood. Here is the bit that talks about Shanghai and All Good Things:
That’s not all. Film financing sources tell me that, at one point, The Weinstein Company had scheduled for release the movie All Good Things for July 24th. This would have been the indie’s first pic out since February. But now TWC will be pushing that film to the 4th quarter, which prompted talk that TWC “doesn’t have the P& A to release it” and “is are worried about the financial results of its distribution”. Not so, says an insider with the production. It won’t be delivered until fall “for reasons having nothing to do with the Weinsteins”. Of course, this info was relayed to me after the Weinsteins placed a call to someone connected to the pic. I’m told “the movie is really strong. We just needed more time to complete it.” Groundswell Productions financed the movie but is depending on TWC for marketing and distribution.
TWC also had scheduled Shanghai, a $50+ milllion production, for release on September 4th. One of my sources explains, “They will push that film to another date in the distant future.”
We always have Days of Wrath to look forward to!

Thanks to everyone voting, it looks like Jeffrey Dean Morgan has pulled into second place in E!Online’s Best Guest Star” poll on E!Online.
But Jeffrey won’t need any help “winning” the next Tator Tops poll. Denny and Izzie are the runaway favorites to win Sex Scene That Made You Want to Throw Out Your TV:
Sex Scene That Made You Want to Throw Out Your TV
- 23.2% Booth-Brennan sex wasn’t real, Bones
- 19.8% Cuddy-House sex wasn’t real, House
- 40.1% Izzie-Denny ghost sex, Grey’s Anatomy
- 10.6% Chuck and Vanessa hook up, Gossip Girl
- 6.4% Sam and New Ruby get it on, Supernatural
The fans have spoken and it looks like we have a winner. But if you still wanted to have your say, go vote for the Izzie-Denny ghost sex scene at E!Online.

I already posted this on my Livejournal, but thought I’d move it over here.
According to Grey’s Anatomy Insider, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has submitted his name for consideration for a Primetime Emmy Guest Actor nomination. Usually the actors who win in this categories are “name” actors, so maybe this year he’ll be nominated!
Notice how no one has submitted their name for LEAD actor on Grey’s?
In other news, E! Online has a poll for best Guest Star. JDM is not doing too well. As of a few minutes ago he was losing, with only Nicole Richie behind him.
Here’s Kristin’s write up on Jeff:
• Jeffrey Dean Morgan‘s character this season on Grey’s Anatomy, dead Denny Duquette may be controversial, but JDM’s radioactive star power is unquestionable. Now, tell us, isn’t there a TV series pilot out there somewhere that needs a broody, badass leading man? The question isn’t why is JDM in so many shows, but why isn’t he in more shows?
Best Guest Star – The vote so far!
- 20.8% Kristen Bell as Uda Bengt, Party Down
- 18.5% Jeffrey Dean Morgan as dead Denny Duquette, Grey’s Anatomy
- 13.6% Nicole Richie as Heather Chandler, Chuck
- 27.9% Amy Ryan as Holly Flax, The Office
So go vote!

Jeffrey Dean Morgan - Best Guest Star? Only you can decide!

Well there’s not much going on in the fandom so I thought I’d post some favourite Jeffrey Dean Morgan pictures.
How about some Accidental Husband screencaps? Unfortunately it looks like we won’t be seeing this in the theatres here in North America. It’s scheduled for a DVD release sometime in July 2009. Maybe the same week as Watchmen?
