I keep hoping that Resident will be at theatres, I want to see JDM’s face on BIG BIG BIG screen and drown in his eyes completely.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus hasn’t been released here. It just played at one festival, I think. It will be in general release on December 25.

And I understand about movies going straight to DVD. I hate when that happens. It’s happening here with The Accidental Husband. But his next few movies are definitely major releases, so you’ll probably be able to see them in a theatre!

But I agree with you. It is a bit different than the Comedian isn’t it, who was so over the top. But I really want to see this. It looks creepy!

All world hits in the theatres, but most of them are mainstream.
for example:
Date of Taking Woodstock’s premiere in Russia was 8th of august. now it’s november. The movie wasn’t shown anywhere in Russia, there’s no DVDs, no festival demonstration, nothing. And nobody knows if we have it here with russian dubbing…
I understand it’s not a blockbuster… but
Another example, not JDM’s movie.
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus – world premiere in may 2009, in Russia it will be at january 2010 and it’s still rumoured…
I’m sad about it.
I’m afraid I’ll have to download “Shanghai” and watch it with subs because I think we’ll never have it here… I like subs but many of JDM fans here can’t watch movies without dubbbing.
And watching movie on a big-big screen with good sound and bag of popcorn it’s not the same as watching DVD at home.

Do most movies in Russia get released in the theatre, or most on DVD? Hopefully it will be a hit so it will play in the theatres everywhere.
