ETA: It seems the title is “The Fields” and not The Texas Killing Fields, which is the older name.
Looks like Jeffrey Dean Morgan is keeping busy. Last week he signed on to The Unblinking Eye, playing a retired police detective, and today it was announced he’ll be starring in The Texas Killing Fields, set to film this April in Louisiana. Looks like he’ll play a police detective in this one too. (It’s called “The Fields” on IMDB).
This looks like it could be a great film and hopefully soon we’ll hear a lot more about it.

The film is based off the true story of two Texas police detectives who teamed up to solve numerous unsolved crimes. Sam Worthington has already joined the cast, as we previously reported, as a local homicide detective. It was said in the initial report that Worthington’s character was assisted by a New York detective, but it wasn’t clear if Morgan was cast in that particular role.
Ami Canaan Mann, daughter of filmmaker Michael Mann, will direct from Donald F. Ferrarone’s script. It was said production would start this April in Louisiana.
