Is Jeffrey Dean Morgan living under a Gypsy's curse? Shanghai release date "indefinite"!

In our “Why am I not in any way surprised? dept., The Weinstein Co. announced today that Shanghai, starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, has had its release date pushed back “indefinitely”.

Shanghai now joins The Accidental Husband and Days of Wrath in that special purgatory of unreleased films reserved for Jeffrey Dean Morgan fans.

And with rumors that his role in All Good Things has been cut, what looked like a great year for Jeffrey Dean Morgan fans is turning into long stretch between Taking Woodstock and Invasion of Privacy in February. (Time to pull out those Grey’s Anatomy DVDs!).

And if this isn’t enough of a reason to make your Tuesday feel like a Monday, under the cut there’s a summary of Shanghai’s opening scene. So you can see just what we’re missing.

Enjoy:)

Shanghai release delayed and set images from the movie

Looking forward to seeing Jeffrey Dean Morgan playing a WWII spy? Keep waiting. It looks like those rumours of the Weinstein Co. nearing bankruptcy are true and Shanghai might be delayed. Originally scheduled to be released  September 4, 2009, it’ll be released either in October or 2010, depending on which report you believe.

Will we get to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan in Shanghai? Probably, but it just might be a longer wait than we anticipated. But we’ll have our Watchmen DVDs with all those DVD extra scenes to tide us over!

I found some great images from the Shanghai film set. No  Jeffrey Dean Morgan in these pictures, but nice nonetheless! They show the depth of work (and money $50 million!) that went into making this film.
