Italian Trailer for Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s The Texas Killing Fields

Okay it’s in Italian, but we have a trailer for The Texas Killing Fields (aka The Fields). It’s a long trailer and you get a good feel for the film – it looks very moody!

The movie will be premiering at the Venice Film Festival, which starts August 31, which explains the Italian trailer.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan News Roundup: Shanghai, The Texas Killing Fields and The Losers

Jeffrey Dean MorganThe Weinstein Company has announced their releases for the remainder of 2010 and once again Shanghai is not on the list. This movie, starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, John Cusack and Gong Li, was originally scheduled to be released in December 2008. Maybe the North American release will happen when and if there’s a premiere in Aisa. Otherwise, we may have to wait and see if there’s a DVD release for this film.

Filming for The Texas Killing Fields starts in May for seven weeks in New Orleans, Louisiana. The release is scheduled for 2011, unless The Weinsteins get their hands on it. Then it’s anybody’s guess.

Here’s another interview with Jeffrey Dean Morgan from The Losers set visit. There are lots of spoilers in this report, so if you’re sensitive about that you may want to avoid it.

From Hitflix.com:

“The Losers” is supposed to be Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s coming out party on the big screen. Sure, the former “Grey’s Anatomy” star played the Comedian in “Watchmen” and sparred with Uma Thurman in the barely seen romantic comedy “The Accidental Husband,” but “Losers” should be the one action flick that at least gets Morgan a slew of leading roles, right? That was certainly the thinking seven months ago as a select number of journalists visited the set in Puerto Rico.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan joins The Texas Killing Fields

ETA: It seems the title is “The Fields” and not The Texas Killing Fields, which is the older name.

Looks like Jeffrey Dean Morgan is keeping busy.  Last week he signed on to The Unblinking Eye, playing a retired police detective, and today it was announced he’ll be starring in The Texas Killing Fields, set to film this April in Louisiana.  Looks like he’ll play a police detective in this one too. (It’s called “The Fields” on IMDB).

This looks like it could be a great film and hopefully soon we’ll hear a lot more about it.

Here’s the announcment from Movieweb:

The film is based off the true story of two Texas police detectives who teamed up to solve numerous unsolved crimes. Sam Worthington has already joined the cast, as we previously reported, as a local homicide detective. It was said in the initial report that Worthington’s character was assisted by a New York detective, but it wasn’t clear if Morgan was cast in that particular role.

Ami Canaan Mann, daughter of filmmaker Michael Mann, will direct from Donald F. Ferrarone’s script. It was said production would start this April in Louisiana.
