Some good news for all you John Winchester fans. Sci Fi website RevolutionSF has named John Winchester the #4 in their list of Best Sci Fi dads, telling us what we already knew!
Now I know that poor Papa Winchester has taken a beating from some Supernatural fans, but there are those of us who feel that he did right by his boys!
Here’s what RevolutionSF had to say.
He took his kids out monster hunting after a demon roasted their mom.
And not the fun way with dirty insults by comedians.
Then he bought them a sweet black 1967 Impala, then made a deal with a demon to save them and got dragged off into infernal torment. Lesser dads just take their kids to concerts.
Now I think that calls for a John Winchester picspam. Not that we needed a reason!
I have a couple of more Jeffrey Dean Morgan interviews for you. The first one he talks about filming The Losers and in the second about the possibility of returning to Supernatural.
But first it looks like Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be in an upcoming issue of Maxim – here’s a link to the photographer’s tumblr blog or check it out below.
Here’s a picture from Supernatural that I haven’t seen yet, so maybe some of you haven’t either. It’s a rather lighthearted moment from the filming of In My Time of Dying.
And we have another poll – Which Jeffery Dean Morgan character is your favourite?
This is the character and not the movie. So even if you didn’t like the movie, you may have loved the character.
I found this at the amazing Hunters’ Addict Journal. It’s from a Cracked magazine piece about Supernatural. I thought the John Winchester part was quite funny and decided to throw in some pics and post it here.
John Winchester
The boys’ father, and the coolest character on the show by far, who of course appears for like three episodes before dying.
Apparently mistreated one of his sons slightly, possibly because he was too short. Apart from that, we don’t know what they’re complaining about, because come on, how many people can claim that their dad once shot a vampire in the face?
Not much is known about John Winchester’s early background, but it is rumored that his father is the great god Poseidon. He also fought in Nam, and could have won it if he really wanted to, but he left after a while because it just wasn’t his thing.
In season four, it is revealed that although John was in Hell for a hundred years, he came out of it just fine (unlike that loser Angel). It is also implied that he impregnated several female demons while he was down there.
Wondering what guns Jeffrey Dean Morgan has used in film and TV? Then check out this chart from the Internet Movie Firearms Database. I guess this might be interesting if you’re writing fanfic? Or if you’re just curious about guns…
This covers just Watchmen and Supernatural. Denny Duquette wasn’t armed, unless you count that killer smile!
